timing belt pulley... bolt size?

All,

Great site.....have been reading for years regarding my 97 Expy and 93 Ranger.

I'm changing the timing belt (busted) and need help with the socket size for the bolt holding the crankshaft / timing belt pulley on. Tried 21mm but its too small. Before heading to the parts store yet again.....thought I'd ask you folks.

Many thanks,
John

It should be a 22mm socket.

Its generally torqued to about 120-140 ft/lbs, it can be a pain to remove the first time. Usually a breaker bar with a cheater will break it loose. If you reinstall it to about 100 ft/lbs it will stay in place and won't be such a pain to remove the next time around.
