changing fuel tank location
Rancher,
I just removed the in-cab tank from my 71 to install a full cage. I ordered a 32-gallon replacement tank from AeroTanks to fit aft-axle (for narrow frame rails). Apparently, the tank comes with all the appropriate hardware for mounting, but I'm not sure of the fill-neck setup. I plan to install a late-model flip door in my bed, which will require some welding and body work.
Check aerotanks.com; they have a few different configs for early Fords.

Rancher,
Carolina Classics sells a kit that relocates the original behind the seat tank, to the front of the bed. They say it only uses 8-inches of bed space, and has a cover with a pop-up door so it looks good. I'm not sure if the Camper Special uses the same tank as all other F-series 67-72 Fords or not?, but you shoud be able to answer that yourself. I think most all 67-72's had 19.5-gallon tanks behind the seat.
I used a '67 Mustang tank for my '67 F-100 and it works fine, the sending unit even works with my stock gauge. But, it is only a 16-gal. tank, so thats probably not what your looking for.

You know your building a Ford when your able to void the CRAFTSMAN warranty...:-)
