Just saw a sign sticker on the diesel pump about low sulfer fuel
I saw a sticker on a diesel pump that said there is a law against using the current diesel fuel (low sulfer 500ppm) in 2007 and newer diesel engines. That must mean that there will be an even lower sulfer fuel for next year? It said that the current diesel fuel is harmful to the new diesels. Does this mean that the very first guys to get the 2007's might not have a fuel they can run without damaging their engines?

ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) - 15 ppm- is a requirement for 2007 diesel vehicles.
Refineries have a June 2006 deadline to have 80% of their highway-use production meet the ULSD standard.
Pump labeling is also required.
You can bet that there will be issues similar to this spring's ethanol/MTBE fiasco as the distribution system works out all the old stock and has not yet purged all the old higher sulfur fuel out of the system.
