Ok i have a 76 250 4x4 with a 390 4 gears with a granny gear and a non-inpregnated transfer case what kind of trans is this? do you know where i can get a preformance shifter for this trans the throw is way to long thanks.

I'm not positive of all the trannys that were availabel that year. But, it sounds like you have the New Process 435 tranny... (4 speed manual with granny low gear)

No doubt in my mind that its a NP435, and technically the transfer case is a "divorce mount", but I dont think you'll find a performance shifter for this, and even if you do it wont shorten the throw between the gears
