whats the differance between these two tranny coolers? dpp is telling me to install the banks 6.0 intercooler i have to get the older style tranny cooler for it to fit??

 

Are the tranny cooler and the intercooler connected?

 

The tranny cooler has nothing to do with the intercooler. There is no difference between a 00 and 02 oil to air cooler. The early 00's like mine only have the oil to air cooler, later in 2000 they added the oil to water cooler in the rad. I think you misunderstood or need to spek to somebody else.

 

maybe the tranny cooler is in the way i dont know i was wondering if maybe the older ones were smaller or something??? i assume dpp knows i just want to know whats different

 

The tranny cooler in mine fit very close to the 6.0 intercooler I put it, but it did fit. The Banks IC is larger, if I remember correctly, and it may not have enough room, right at the bottom. I'd call DPP and ask why?

 

I believe the cooler is the same small one till they went with the 6.0 engine.
