What's the best way to get my truck there?
O.k., I know this sounds like a dumb question. I would like to bring my '59 F250 4x4. This truck is geared extremely low, so I figure that driving there is not an option. I was wondering if anyone else with a similar situation who has been to one of these before, has any ideas or sugguestions. I don't own a trailer, and I'm not so sure that my daily driver ('79 F150 4x4) is up to the task of towing the '59 cross country. I would really like to attend, so any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hpguy, According to my data plate I should have the same gears that you do, but I don't know if they were ever swapped out though. At 55 mph, my engine (292)is screaming! It makes me real nervous to take it out on the highway. Do you think I would be o.k.? I'd be coming from New Jersey. The other thing though..... This truck has 17,500+ original miles on it. I'd hate to add so many miles to that in one trip.
Daywalker, I don't think it's been decided yet, but it looks like the big one will be out west.

Kenny, You might think about a tow dolly. You would disconnect the drive shaft at the rear and when you arrive just reconnect it. The front would be on the dolly, so it's not a concern. When I tow one for a distance I just tie the rear of the shaft to the frame with forward pull, so it doesn't come out of the auto tranny.
You would hardly know the truck was back there, they pull so good. :-)
