4-link suspension tubing

Would 1020 dom 1 1/2" tubing with 3/8" wall work for a rear 4-link on my trail truck which is a '78 bronco. Also would 1" hemi joints work for this as well???

Mine isn't 4 link it's latter bars, but I am running 3/4" joints on the front and 1-1/4 .140 wall square tubing, and have never broken it if that gives you an idea.

monsterbaby: I didnt see that you we're running ladder bars... for the kind of stuff i do they wouldnt last dragging them across rocks....

J##p TJ or XJ stock front springs are a popular thing for J##p rear 4 -links and easy to find....

ladder bars don't work worth a darn for rock crawling at all, there is almost no flex, heck I lift atleast one tire just pulling it into the yard, but they do work real well in straightline drags which is what this truck is purpose built to do.
And Todder53, you could run stock coils I guess but your not going to like them, they are way to stiff. Yes that picture shows my suspension using 6" lift coils for a bronco II, and at 450lbs/in they would just hop like crazy off hte line and didn't give at all.
here is the link to the rear suspension as of now.

can you thread the tubing to the proper thread size for those joints? if so that would work real good I would think.

Personally, I would run the heavier 1 1/2 tubing, there is a good chance you'll drag them over a rock or two some time, & the heavier tube would be better,
Not to mention your bronco is a full size & considerably hevier than Monster's ride,

I run 1 1/2 .120 wall, for uppers & 1 3/4 .120 wall for lowers, both with 3/4 himes,

Heres what those XJ coils look like with weight on them on a J##p ... the front end on the J##p in the pic is sprung over with 4" BDS springs and 1.5" shackles so about 9" lift and it sits level
