CB handle/lingo?

I'm still workin on the lingo but the handle was simple ( i wont share ). If you are really serious about keeping connected with folks you need a 10 or 12 meter shortwave modded. If you get your radio from Truckers CB & 10 Meter Radios they will send you the stuff to tweak it out for free. Step 1: Get a Ranger Communications shortwave from them. Step 2: After you have placed your order email them and ask to have the mod stuff mailed to you.
They won't get there on the same day because they won't ship them out together. Not sure why. There's my 2 cents for the day.

Im all over the La Crosse area of wisconsin, dad an I both have ham license but I rather have the good old CB on. I use an ooooold Palamar all tricked up and tweaked. I have a quarterwave mounted to the center of the rear box-wall on my Ranger so I get good distance any direction... Most truckers are just passing through on I-90 but every once and a while I point 'em in the direction of a good place to get a meal or park their truck for the night.....Most of the time they're great guys but ya do run into some of those "rambos"...... If your ever in the area, give me a call on channel 29 or 33. I answer to either Ranger or Crash.....

Mine is Sugardaddy, its been that way since the first time I drove with my dad in his truck as a little boy. I would talk on the CB to other truckers, even though I could barely understand them through their really deep truckin accents. My favorite candy at the time was Sugardaddy, hence the name.
I learned all the lingo, Smokey Bear, Polar bear (undercover), Parking Lots, Skateboards, City Kitty, Local Yocal, county bounty, pumpkin head, reefer, 'just coolin the brakes'....etc all that crap
truckers get pretty dirty on their...

wow, i thought CB radio talkin was a lost art!
of course, i started out watching smokey and the bandit, and happened to enjoy the songs jerry reed would sing, so it was just kind of fitting to be The SnowMan lol. that's my name of choice of course, but sometimes it's a good idea to have another one in the bank in case someone is looking for u for the wrong reasons...

Anyway seeing as how we are all sharing stuff, if y'all ever in the Willimette Valley of Oregon around the Albany area then see if you can throw your signal out to me on channel 8 or 17.
By the way how do you get rid of engine interfearence? I have my CB wired up to by fuse box just like the instrections said to and I have a whole crud load of interfearence. To say 3 out'a 5 bars of it!!!! That and I can't throw my signal out very far...seeing as how I'm bare foot dosn't help much either.....and just were would I get a amp for my cb anyways? Thanks your local yokle of Oregon.

hayden, rewire the CB with a power lead going directly to the battery, then hook the ground wires up to the battery, a chasis ground, and a frame ground if you can get one. Then ground your antenna mount to at least once on the frame, but multiple frame and cab grounds are even better.
you don't need a linear amp to get enough power to be heard, just get your box turned up, my cobra 25 puts out 30 on its own. for a liner, you'll be looking at 250-350 watts, and you'll need a better antenna to go with it.
