Have check all of the obvious places, sparkplug wires, coils, all vacuum lines, nothing is lose that I can see. The check engine has not come on yet so I'm at a loss as where to start. Could it possibly have something to with the DPFE sensor, or the EGR valve, or regulator? I checked the DPFE sensor plug I have 5volts from the plug but I don't have any resistance across the two leads in the sensor. Is this right?

You have a bad wire connection somewhere in a wiring loom.
I had same problem on an 84 LTD 302 engine. Hit a bump and engine would stumble.
I found mine by running the PCM test in a continuous diagnostic mode (wiggle test in older EEC IV).
In that mode, the tester wiggles wiring harnesses and connection points. If the PCM sees a momentary sensor fault, it kills the engine as an alert. My trouble was in a main wiring harness that crossed the firewall. At one point, about 5-6 leads that supplied 5VDC to the sensors were crimped together with a small ring connector. The ring connector was loose, so I was getting a momentary loss of sensor battery supply to almost all the engine sensors that used that supply. The test pointed me to the general location of the fault, but I had to cut open the wiring loom to find the exact cause.
Since your engine cuts out easily, I would suggest you start manipulating every wiring harness/ connector you can get your hands on till you locate the one that is the cause of your trouble.

I had a 87 that would cut out on parking lot speed bumps and deep cross gutters. It was a faulty fuel pump shutoff switch. They are designed to shut off the electric fuel pump after a crash but mine would just shut off the pump for 1-2 seconds after a rough bump then come back on. Good luck.
