Bought a 96 F350 crew cab, long bed 4x4. Made three payments on it and found out the transfer case was bone dry (NOW I know how to check the fluid level). So it welded itself together and while we were at it why not put a new tranny and transfer case in? 3000 dollars later and I've gone from 14 mpg to 20!! Does anyone else get this good? I've only ran one tank through but I was beating on it testing out the new running gear so I don't think it will get much worse. Thanks!!
I've got a 95 F350 PS and I get about 18MPG running 65 and not towing. My neighbor has a 96 similar to mine and he tells me he gets 20MPG. Mine has 285K on it and his has 145K and both are 2WD. So, if you are getting 20 MPG w/ 4WD I like to know who set yours up. I like to get that kind of mileage.
1900 at 60mph in what gear?
I have 3.55's and I dont get 20 mpg, 17 yes 20 no. But then I often have to use a pry bar to get my right foot out of the floorboard.
My f250 crewcab 4x4 automatic just runing freeway, just the truck at 70mph gets right around 18mpg. My stroker has 4:10 gears 285/75r16, and deleted muf and cat. other than that it's stock.
