Changing the color of my dash pad and door panels
I finally found an original Ford dash pad for my 1985 F-150 that is not cracked or split anywhere. Since I can't find anyone who reproduces these, they seem to be hard to find in good shape. The only other option is the dash "caps," which I did not want, so I bought this dash pad to replace my original cracked one. The only problem is, it is the wrong color. It is a red wine color and my interior is the bright Canyon Red color. Where can I find Canyon Red dye to change the color of the dash pad and my interior door panels in the future?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It's commonly referred to as dye, but it's paint to me....it's a coating.
You can experiment by checking out your parts store, there are different brands such as Duplicolor.... do some net research.
I have a Pontiac that I'm slowly restoring....I found a spray paint that's my exact color at Home Depot, so I sprayed one part...its a hard plastic part like your door panel...it went on perfect, looks real nice, and since the part isn't flexible, I doubt if there will ever be a problem. It has a little more gloss than the other stuff but not much.
Maybe theres an "interiors" forum on here.

I used to work in an automotive paint store. I know that a good paint store can color match any interior part any color you need. Our store used to take an "interior only" paint and add a flex additive to make it plyable so it wouldn't crack and then add a satin hardener so it wouldn't shine more than the rest of the interior parts.
Look around for a good paint store and see if they can help you out. They can mix up as much as you want.
