79 Ranchero trim questions

I hate playing with aluminum trim and since my 79 is so original I need answers. The first piece / pieces I need to remove is the rear window trim so I can put my slider in. The factory manual just states "remove it" then pop the window and gasket.
The other piece I would like to pull is the top trim on the tail gate. I see the screws on the sides but how does the clips release on the top edge? I want to pull the panel and clean out and treat the inside. thanks all
