I got a 79 f250 and my friend had a 77 grill the twopiece one and i was wondering if it would bolt on a 79 because I like it alot more then the 79 one

 

The grille it's self won't fit, but if your talking about what I think(the whole chrome grille surround), then yes it will bolt right up, and the only thing you'll need is to drill hole for the headlights to fit a few inches lower.

Now in regards to the topic.

Yes you can swap them over BUT it isn't just a bolt-in swap you need to swap over a bunch of parts because you are going from not only Year of grill but the headlights on the 79 are rectangular and the 77 are round.:
The Hood is a different (79 has FORD) 77 The T/S lights are in the hood
The turn signals are different
a) The 79 they are just above the bumper
b)The 77 they are in the hood
The Grille surrounds and headlight buckets are different
77 Round Headlights
79 Rectangular Headlights

My suggestion get a donor truck

 

You have already the grille and grill inserts.
The truck will need the headlight buckets, left and right side (Year of truck, 1973-1977).
The two bracket from inner top fenders to grille, left and right side (year of truck, 1973-1977).
The turn signal and parking lenses assembly (year of truck 1977).
The Round head lights.

 

I have some 73 headlight supports and parking lights etc from a grille I just bought to replace my "aftermarket krappy one". I have a 1977 truck, and I bought a grille from a 1973, only difference are the inserts, and the clear park lights (mine are amber).
