can you make the Lincoln style rams horn manifolds work on ford y-blocks?

In my search for the ever elusive Ford rams horn style exhaust manifolds, I have come across several sets of the Lincoln rams horns and at much more reasonable prices. The Lincoln manifolds look as though the only difference is that the two outer bolt holes are raised up about half an inch from the way they are on the Ford ones. I have had a machinist friend of mine tell me that he could easily cut and move the two outside bolt holes down in line with the other holes. I guess my question is "Will this work?" Are there any other differences that I am not seeing (i.e.- will the port holes line up)? Without having them in hand, I have no way of testing this and I don't want to waste my money just to find out that there is some other problem that I am going to run into. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The question has been asked here before, and the answer has been no. I think in addition to the outer bolt holes, the port spacing was also different. Whatever the reason, if it was possible it would be done with the high price of 292 Rams Horns.

Thanks for the reply. I kinda figured as much and figured someone here could tell me for certain. I searched the forums before I posted but didn't find anything. I guess I should search harder next time.

Hoff, I didnt mean to imply that you needed to do a search. I mentioned it because my response was based upon other's information given in a previous post, if that makes sense.

There's a set on ebay right now. Search for "Ford ram horn". Only 4 hours left.
