Question axle codes?

I looked at 78/79 F250 4x4 on thursday and made the guy an offer, but I am unsure of the axle ratios. The numbers where " 24 " for the axle code. I know it is a dana 44 front/dana 60 rear but all 4 tires where flat, which made manual check difficult. Can any of you other Ford Truck Enthusiasts steer me to a diif code location or even better, tell me what 24 code means.
Thanks a bunch!

Check out Dennis' excellent page:

Looks like a D60 with 4.10 gears in the back.

Thanks for the great info "seventyseven250" I wasn't really sure what I was looking at.
The truck had been sitting for several years, no box, fuel tank had been pulled, and rear of frame sandblasted and primered, The cab mounts were still original but probably will need floor pans. Steering box was dry at sector shaft, all driveline was complete including shafts, cab was actually pretty solid, but hood was only panel that did not need rust work. 351m/400 C6 and 205case.
I couldn't hear it run but was told it was running in Jan 06, to move it. Still had lots of battery life. I offered him $300 dollars Canadian, and he was asking 500. I hope he calls back, I think 400 would be ok! I'm not sure if it will be for parts or fix for a driver/winter truck, I have a nice 4.9 efi 4spd that would be perfect for it! These old girls are getting pretty hard to find here in SW Ontario!
