cold skip??

I have a 2000 f-350 crew cab 4x4 that rerally doesn't get used...I have a company truck, and am usually with my wife when we go anywhere outside of my work (for some reason she doesn't like when I drive...hehe).the once or twice a week that it does get started, it seems like it has lost its prime. It
starts a little hard...the romp romp romp thing and when it fires it seems to skip for a few minutes till it is warmed up...then it runs great the rest of the day, or even the next day if I drive it two days in a row. Oil and filter is clean and new...new cam position sensor....new glow plugs and relay, even though I know this time of year that wouldn;t be the problem...any ideas?...thanks in advance for any help. scott

With all you have done with the truck, about all that is left is the wiring harness's or a failing injector.

could it possibly be the checkvalve in the HPOP reservoir, causing the oil to go out of the resi and cause a hard or no start?

There's a thought. Kris have you ever pulled the little plug on your HPOP in the morning to see the level? I never have so I can't advise what an HPOP in good condition would be.

well..I broke down and brought it to the stealer due to lack of time/ place to work in it...just got a phone call back...they said they need to change the ebpv to finish the diagnosis because the voltage from it is way out of range and said it is kicking out two codes at the moment which are both pointing in that direction also...course they also told me they needed to change the fuel filter because it was "filthy"....I said, "really??..that is funny since I changed it less then twenty miles ago..."...then he said he would get back to me on the filter. I told him to do the ebpv if it "has to be done" at a cost of $273. Damn I hate not knowing more about thse damn things...lol...will keep you posted and again, thanks for your help/suggestions. scott

just wanted to get back to anyone interested in the outcome for reference. the dealer installed the ebpv sensor then continued with diagnosis. they told me it needed an injector for cylinder number 8 at a cost of $720. I told them I would get back to them at a later date if I decided to go with it. I can get a reman injector for like $120 on ebay...I had a couple questions for anyone who might want know...(1) if it needed an injector, wouldn't it skip all the time, not just till warm up like it is doing? And (2) was wondering if the hpx mod might help this problem?(just a stab in the dark). remember, this truck just sits most of the time all by its lonesome....I wonder if it just needs some good old drive time with a good dose of fuel system cleaner..I will say this, since they did the sensor it starts much better..no longer seems like it has lost its prime after sitting for a few days. well..just wanted to post the outcome.thanks for all suggestions as always. scott
