Pigeon Forge is just 36 more days..... :D
The honest truth is many of the regulars who go don't want to visit the web site. They'd rather talk about it via email. I guess they'll miss out on the fun. I'm open.... let start the plans. This year the LoRiders are having a picnic with another club (they invite a different club each year).

I'm from Seattle and have had my plane tickets for months along with reservations at HJ. Now that NW Airlines isn't probably going to be on strike, the probability of my arrival is better. I'm arriving on Wednesday and leave on Monday night so I'll be there for the whole show. I'm a club FTE member and I've volunteered with Ken to help at the Ford-Trucks booth or however. I'm really interested in attending tech sessions and want to film as much of it as I can.
This will be my first PF.
I didn't realize there was discussion outside of the email lists so that's why I've not been here.

Ken,
Are you talking about a Saturday picnic in lieu of the Alan Jackson b'fast. Seems like a lot going on Saturday to plan 2 meals. I got to ride in the blvd. cruse with Eric last year! I remember seeing you in the back of Stu's 4X4. What a blast.
I have never seen the awards presentation. Is it worthwhile? Is there much going on after that? I know Sunday, the place is wiped clean of trucks!!

website still to be set up (how do I get those face thingies to post?)

The problem is that the LoRiders put on a picnic Friday evening. Its a big gathering point and a few LoRider members (myself included) are in both groups.
I'm open to suggestions. We could do the breakfast Sunday morning before everyone heads out? Or perhaps just have a picnic on Saturday and cancel the breakfast? Its YOUR event, FTE/Club FTE will accommidate your plans.

personally my wife and I prefer the Breakfast. The food is excellent at Alan Jacksons and we enjoy seeing all the folks. The picnic last year was fun but a lot probably didn't attend cause it was the end of the day and everyone was beat. I think the breakfast started out the day nicely... it also let me go longer without looking for lunch... I did my share on the buffett it's also a lot less work on a few that have to plan, haul, cook and clean after the picnic..
I vote for breakfast for sure !!

Breakfast would be great...requires less planning, every man for himself, one person don't have to do all of the work.
Word of caution. Alan Jacksons cafe is belly-up, there is a new restaurant in its place but no show cars. I don't know if they still have the buffet or whatever.
If we decide on breakfast, we need to pick a new location or at least be clear that the breakfast will NOT be at alan jacksons, because it doesn't exist!!!!

Okay Ken, you transfered me from the mailing lists to the message boards
I can't wait! I've been down there twice before, last year and a couple years before that, but I've never participated with you guys in any get-togethers while being down there. This year I'll probably be down there alone since both my Dad and my Best buddy can't get out of work....so I'm pretty much open for anything.
Might be bringing the "Big Green Weenie" dunno yet... http://www.sunsetcoast.com/coolestdude/

Hey Folks!
Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year. I close on a construction loan for my house and want to be here as it's going up.
I would recommend having breakfast somewhere other than Alan Jacksons. I didn't care for the buffet and the group was kinda scattered around. I think you should try the Apple Barn or the Pancake House across the street from the Grand.
As a place for dinner, I liked the steaks at the Alamo in Gatlinburg and I liked the dinner at the Apple Barn in Sevierville as well.
I would like to see a booth where people can come to rest and enjoy the company of others, as well as a place to sell anything that they may want to bring. Just a thought. I'm still hanging on to this from my FTE days.
Just a few ideas I wanted to throw out. I'm gonna miss not going up there this year. I hope to be there next year.
