Fuel Filler Adapter?

I've searched for the last hour trying to find a post concerning a nozzle adapter for filling the truck up with diesel from a class 8 nozzle (in other words, getting fuel from that big nozzle into our little tank opening). I thought I read someone found adapters for sale somewhere in the past six months (they slip over the large diamter nozzle?)...Is this even the way (using an adapter) to go or should the fuel filler neck be modified to accept the larger diameter nozzle? Any help/advice would be most appreciated!

Can't help you with an adapter, but my 03 Excursion has a large diameter opening. I wonder if you could swap out the parts and use a filler neck for the Excursion? I don't know if the fit is the same.

There was a thread about this a while ago and the general concensus was to pull the filler neck, use a hole saw the diameter of the opening and simply cut out the restrictor. Clean metal shavings from the neck and re-install. The ones that did this said it works great.

Thanks Guzzle ! ...I did the deed this morning and it will work great. I didn't use a hole saw because I had some larger and some small blades...so I just got a real small (1/4") wood chisel (razor sharp) and easily just chiseled the plastic ring and flap doohikie out.

Any problems with the higher rates of flow from the comercial pumps?

I've never had any problems, it's amazing how fast the tank fills.
