the stock 6.0 IC is no where near as efficient as the 7.3 Technicooler. the ultimate- look at this- http://www.blackclouddieselperforman...d0f5a7056ca940

The 6.0 and the 7.3 intercoolers are completely different. The 6.0 air tubes are bigger and if I remember right, they are higher on one side and lower on the other. I just changed out the OEM 7.3 for a Banks (including the tubes). Man what a difference. Turbo spools up a lot faster.
I need to clamp down the overboost valve (bleed off) a little, It is opening up way too fast. I know that there is a kit out there, but $160.00 is streaching my wallet a little right now. Gotta save up for that Jody tuner.

If the Banks 6.0 intercooler is bigger and yu can get the connecting tubes and boots, definately use it. The OEM 6.0 cooler that I have is definately bigger. Just make sure that if it is used, that you completely flush it out. I would not use anything stronger than kero and then used compressed air at a low pressure to air dry it. Just make sure to get all the junk out of then and then do the CCV mod to keep further oil out of it.

6.0 vs 7.3
I can get my hands on a Banks tested (pressure) 7.3 now, but I don't know if the owner will warranty it.
Also, I don't know what the shipping cost would be to Montana.
I will give him a buzz and let you know. You can use the original OEM tubes, but they need to be cleaned up. I would suggest using an Aftermarket boot, not the OEM's. The OEM's have a restriction in the middle.
The 6.0 is a tight fit, it is a PITA to install, but it will go in. I understand that you will have to remove the A/C condensor and fan shroud to get it in. Also remember, the 6.0 cools backwards of the 7.3, but that is no problem.

I just pm one of the guys who did the 6.0 install, he said you remove the upper radiator supports, 2 bolts, the upper crossmember over the radiator 4 bolts on each side, undo the hoses, loosen the recovery tank and move the ac lines over, then the intercooler slides out, tight fit for any you put in.
