well our replacement came in today, it's a 2007 F-550 165" with a 6.0, not a 6.4. says "2007" right on the sticker.

Just a rumor. Ford does use a cummins engine in their 650 and 750's, IIRC, and it is an option. But as for the 250-550, nope. '07 will still have 6.0, then the '08 models will have the 6.4L PSD made by International/Navistar.

I ordered the Lariot model loaded. Ordered it from Harold Zeigler Ford In Plainwell, Michigan. My guy Shulack called me 2 days ago and said they are available for order. It will probably take a couple of months though.

Just thought I'd let you guys know they are available.

I want one. What is the price on this truck? Only if theres a 6.4

the 6.4L will not be available until jan 2007 weather ford has it ready or not. the reason for this is that engine is designed to run on ULSD only. ULSD will not start hitting the pumps till october. the governmen mandate is jan 2007 for all pumps. ford is not going to release an engine that is hard to find the right diesel fuel for.i can back this up to. why because it is on the ford bulletin this morning. i doubt your sales guy ordered a 6.4L truck. orders probably will not be taken till october or november for the 6.4L. also ford said on their bulletin this morning that any 6.0L built in 2006 can be used in a 2007 truck after january 2007. the emissions regs goes by engine production not truck production. this being said i highly doubt we will see any 6.4l engine until the 6.0L stalk is used up.

Now that makes great sence. That goes right what everyone else for the most part has been saying.

That might explain the $2,500 loyalty rebate they just ran for '03 and '04 owners(maybe '05) of the 6.0. If you bought another 6.0 in the last 2 months, (April or May) the dealer could take another $2,500 off and not affect his margin. Yes? No? or are they just trying to boost sales?

The funny thing is that 6.4 is not even in the order specs yet for 2007.

Dealers still have to sell 6.0s like it was yesterday. So maybe in 2/07 we might hear from the dealers on the 6.4. So until then it is going to be 6.0 all the way

sorry for the error, my last post in this thread said it came in, but in fact it was another customer's truck, but the basically 95% the same thing. it didnt have keyless entry and adjustable pedals. however our new truck is in, it came in yesterday. i passed it on the highway on a carrier as i was going to lunch. an hour later they called, it was in. it looks just like all the other 2006's out there, and it has the 6.0 in it. we go on vacation after next week, and that is when the 2004 will be no more, and the 2007 will get the old truck's body.

Everyone was so pumped about the rumour of this 6.4 and as far as any dealer info goes, the 6.0 (which I thought plenty adequate anyway) is still the ONLY diesel engine available in F250/350. I know....Ive looked through the dealers 2007 F250/350 spec sheets. As for new body and interior.....???????? havent seen any hard evidence that anything spectacular is going on there either.

I talked to a fleet dealer in Texas he told me that the new 6.4 diesel has a twin turbo design with better horse power and torque but probably won't be available until late 2007 or early 2008.
The twin turbo sounds like fun.

6.0 diesel buy back

What procedures did you use to get ford to buy back your vehicle? I have an 04 Excursion 6.0 diesel. Has run like a champ for the last two years (31K miles). All of a sudden it runs like crap. Have to press the gas pedal to the floor to get it to move, takes forever to get to 3000rpm for the trubo to kick in. Used to kick in a 1500rpm and was quick to get there. Have had the truck in service 6 times in last 25 days. They replaced all the parts their going to and telling me the computer readings are within ford specs. Still runs like crap. They say to drive it for 500 to 600 miles, it "is a learning vehicle, it will read how I drive and make adjustments it deems necessary". Is that for real? They say the truck is good and no more repairs. How do I get ford to buy this 6.0 lemon back? Thanks for anyones help.
