What ignition switches would fit?
I have just bought a 67-72 F-100 and some dumb *** had took a power drill to the ignition slot. I was wondering if perhaps an ignition out of a 1967 fairlane 500 xl would fit because I have one in m/y back yard. Also it there any other cars/trucks that would fit
Any help is appreciated thanx

Steve, I don't know how deep the switch is drilled, but that is one method of removing the cylinder from the switch. There is a keeper in the back that needs to still be good.
The proper way to remove the cylinder is to turn it to the acc position, push a paper clip in the little hole and turn it until it is horozontal and it should come out. Some wont and the drill is the only thing left. The cylinders are pretty cheap and available at your favorite part house.

I know this is way after the last post, but I just bought a cylinder and switch for my 1968 Truck. After an hour or so of trying to get the cylinder to go in I gave up thinking I had recieved the wrong one from LMC. I sat down here and thought I would search for people with similar problems, and lo and behold I run across this thread.
All this is just to say thank you to all the knowledgable people on this site. I love FTE!

Hi, it was my cousin that posted this thread, and as I recal we ended up drilling right to the end of the removable part of the cylinder and using a pair of vise grip pliers to get the pieces out, after that we took an ignition cylinder out of a dead 74 ford and put it in, his truck runs like a swiss watch
Note: There was nothing wrong with the actual ignition switch he just lost his keys
