There's a guy here in North Dakota that had his F350 converted. Three full rows of seats, plus the 8 foot box. Now there's a LONG rig! That thing makes Dodge's Mega Cab look like a toy.

going back to the HD package thing, the other day I went to rent a chipper, and the rental guy looked at the truck and wanted to see documentation that the truck had a HD payload package.
I really didn't know what bit of paper was going to satisfy his "concerns," but has anyone else run into similar problems, ie: people not believing that the F150 HD is really HD?

I'm also trying to figure out what "document" I should have on me...

What does he need the document for? You could make a copy of your window sticker, or show the increased payload on the door jam. It may even say HD on there. I don't remember.

I don't know, it sounded like he was making ***** up at that point. I think he saw the F-150 and thought in his mind, this is a 1/2 ton, and can't pull a chipper.
like I said, I think he was just making it up...

If you're just pulling it, the guy is stupid. F150's can pull more than 9,000 lbs.

Well guys and gals I just got one of these beasts and so far I'm liking it pretty well. It's a green 2004 with the XLT trim. I also have a 2008 regular cab F150 plain Jane and I think that the HD rides a whole lot better. Now having said that I've only drive it from Virginia to Michigan on what were fairly smooth roads but the ride was good as far as I was concerned. As for a few of the questions here, there is no HD designation on the door sticker just a GVWR of 8200#. I had to have some of the things that this truck offered like that 8 ft bed and a manual transfer case so I can flat tow it behind my motor home I'll be getting soon. The gas mileage wasn't as good as the 2008 but I didn't expect it to be. A couple of other differences are the frame is 0.150 in thick instead of I think 0.100 or 0.110. As for wheels I'm perfectly happy with the painted steel wheels because living in the land of salt and rust aluminum wheels are a prescription for rim leaks. I'll see if I can upload a picture.
