Question Cheapest place to buy trailer brake controller?

Who knows where the cheapest place in Ontario is to buy a trailer brake controller? I don't need much, just something for when I pull the car trailer behind my 79 - don't really care for trying to stop more than double my truck's weight with just the truck brakes - have to plan route quite carefully.

I've been looking at the Reese/Drawtite Activator series. Any suggestions? Princess Auto has one for $87 - is it the Activator I or II?

I'll also consider used....

I would have thought The Princess Auto Surplus area

CT would be next.

Try Princess Auto ... it will go on sale. I have seen them advertized for as little as $55.

I paid $85 for mine a 4-5 years ago at Canadian Tire. Seemed hi at the time but what a difference it made. May come on sale at Canadian tire too?

They were $150 at Canadian Tire. Less than a year ago, they were $135 at CT (I've looked at them a couple times.) I thought our high dollar was supposed to mean cheaper imported goods???!!!

General consensus on towing forums seems to be to use the Tekonsha Prodigy. Know where to get one of those cheap?

I like camping world but they are not the cheapest

http://www.campingworld.com/browse/s...35&tab=reviews

Some on Ebay

I have a prodigy in my Suburban and I think next to Tow Command it is the next best brake controller out there. Before that I used an activator II. It also worked very well for the price.

I have one from my 2002 f150 I changed to a digital...if you want it it is yours free of charge...I'm in Toronto..if you are far..I ask only postage for it...It is a brake force...by no means top of the line but it worked well for me..but I tow everyday and wanted to be exact with my braking to make sure I am saving stress on the brakes...
where are you located ...if you want it it is yours...if you don't want it and anyone needs it...pm me..but you have first dibs...
