flex fuel 3.0 into a pre flex 3.0 ranger?

I need fitment information. I have a 1999 2wd supercab ranger with 3.0/auto plus a/c. The door sticker has a production date of 4/99. I know that FORD made a running change in 1999, that includes switching to FLEX fuel engines.
I got my hands on a FLEX fuel engine (7/99 and after production date).
Does anybody know if I can take the bottom portion of the engine and use it in my truck. I would like to use the replacement block, heads, mainly will switching out the fuel intake parts for my original intake parts.
any advice
thanks khadma
