LEER 700 Series, re-attaching weather stripping

I have a LEER fiberglass lid and the weather stripping has come unglued. Has anyone had any success with a good glue or double sided tape for this situation? I have used 3M heavy duty double sided tape and it didn't work. This Florida heat requires a really strong adhesive, I beleive.

3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive

Part # 080001 $5.95 per 5 oz tube at any NAPA store.

Available in black or yellow in resealable tube.

Good stuff, been using it for 30+ years!

Clean both halves with denatured alcohol, put a bead on the rubber, stay back 3/16ths of an inch from the edge and then position it and hold in place with 2 in wide masking tape (not Duct tape-get the blue stuff made by #m when you are at NAPA.)

Watch the edge for glue ooze, use methanol to clean off if it weeps out. Any gnarlies on the rubber can be removed with a razor blade.
