Dana 60 30 or 35 spline?
Hey everyone, I have a 77 F250. I was just curious, what is the spline count for my rear Dana 60? 30 or 35? I always here people talking about upgrading to 35 spline, so I wasnt sure if I had it already or... well ya know, lol just looking for some advice. Thanks!

is your truck an offroader or a driver because detroits are not very pleasant on the street. You can typically pick up a used 30 spline powerlock posi for $100 and be done with it. I run stock powerlock dana 60's with 40" ground hawgs and never had a tire slip with power to it. I had a detroit 14 bolt under my daily driver and grew to hate it with a passion. Would have rather had a spool in the rear. Yanked it out in favor of a powerlock 70.

you have to bore the spindles out to 1.6" i.d to match them to dana 70 dimensions. then you just get teh 35 spline locker and slide a set of dana 70 shafts in
personally i would just get a one ton rear after you blow the 30 spline junk up, weld your spiders for now. i have found on the road with s detroit they arent bad in longer vehicles like our trucks, but in jeeps etc it can get squirrely. i love my rear detroit....but if you can find a powerlock for cheap throw it in, they are best best limited slip ive ever seen.
personally i wouldnt waste another dime on that rear if you ever wheel your truck
