VIN locked?

Got a chance to pick up an Edge Evolution programmer for a fairly cheap price. Used obviously. Is there a way to check and see if it's been VIN locked? The seller is local.

Try installing it, most programmers will tell you when plugged into the OBD2 port. If it's locked, just means the programmer is still installed in another vehicle.

I know what it means. I just want to know if I can tell by looking at it or does it need to be hooked up to truck.

You have to plug it in to see if it is locked.
