1993 Ford F350 7.5L 460 4x4. Has been taking several cranks to start engine in the last few months, but now will not start at all. Has new spark plugs, dist. cap and rotor, and fuel filter. Could this possibly be a bad fuel pump? If so, is this located near the rear axle? What kind of tests can I do to check this out? Truck has dual gas tanks and I am being told that each tank has its own fuel pump????
Each tank has its own high pressure pump. If your truck doesn't start on either tank, it's not the fuel pumps. It could be a kinked return line or a clogged filter, though. I would change the filter and see what happens.
