FTE (and you!) at the 2002 Supernationals
Once again, Ford Truck Enthusiasts plans to attend the Ford Truck
Supernationals in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This is an annual event that FTE and many of its users have attended since FTE first started.
The show dates:
Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19, 2002.
This is the grand-daddy of 1948 - 1979 F-Series truck shows. Last year over 900 trucks were registered. Many vendors attend the show plus a large number of Ford truck clubs.
For reservations at the Grand Hotel call call 1-800-251-4444 or call Pat Ford Promotions at 704-872-7327 or e-mail jford@conninc.com. Pigeon Forge lodging and tourism information: www.mypigeonforge.com.
Each year we plan at least one or two gatherings of FTE members. I will be there Wednesday evening through Sunday around noon.
We traditionally have a morning breakfast at the Alan Jackson restaurant and a dinner or picnic Friday or Saturday night plus evening cart races.
Let's get this planned, we only have 4 weeks. Suggestions or ideas?

This will be our first time to the F-100 Nats and also to Pigeon Forge. Hopefully the motor change out will be a successful venture and we will take the ol' 74 beater, if not we'll take the modern day dually. At any rate where, how and how much is registration? We will drive up leaving Florida Thursday afternoon for a early start on Friday's activities. See y'all there.

While I have had my doubts this spring, the Neighbors Clan will be there, though Grover will have to sit out another year.
We will be arriving Friday night, and will be at the Rodeway. See y'all there!
By the way, the Grover tee-shirt stays home this year. I've developed a bit too much around the middle to wear it in public...

My boy Paul and I will be arriving, as usual, early, to spend a day or so bumming around Knoxville or similar area.
We'll be staying at the Royal Inn, by stoplight 3.
We hope to stay until some time Saturday, or even to Sunday AM.
We usually bomb out on Friday and leave early, so I wouldn't be
surprised if we do it again.

55 panel, should be painted in next month or so
56 Victoria....hard to beat having one of each!

Our first F-100 nationals are behind us and will be a memorial one I'm sure. I decided at the last minute to take the F-350 dually as the 74 needed a little more time on the fresh motor. The dually remains at a Ford dealer in Atlanta with a $5000 to $6000 repair bill to a fried rear end. It ran out of warrantee on the trip and was 184 miles over 36,000 when it ceased forward motivation on I 75 someware north of Atlanta at 1:30AM. That battle with Ford continues and when its resolved I'll figure a way to get back to Atlanta and retrive it.
So we left the Atlanta Ford Dealer in thier rental Chevy Pick-up (at my expense) and proceeded on to Pigeon Forge where we all had a great time. The wife and 14 year old son both enjoyed are are all set for next year. The show was excellent and hopefully won't outgrow the venue. Pigeon Forge was a great surprise. I haven't seen that many Americans at a tourist attraction since the start of Disney World, as we are usually in the minority any more.
We'll see y'all next year, in a Ford!

Have the dates and location of the 2003 Ford Truck Super National been decided? If so, please post so that I can clear my calendar and make some reservations.

Hey, yeah, news on next year's date and location would be nice. So would a trailer, a tow vehicle, free lodging... but seriously, is it going to be the same wkend? Last year it happened to land on my mom's birthday, and i thought it'd be a wise move to stay home for the party. This year, however...I'm there. Hopefully one of my girls will make it too.
Thanks for a great website,
Luke.
