I just bought an 03 6.0 super cab FX4 from the original owner... the last diesel I was in was my dads old 97 and it had a wait to start light, should this truck have a light that shuts off when the glow plugs are hot??

Yes it has a light. It's a little squiggly simbol on the top/left in the cluster.
When the truck is warm it will usually only flash for a split second.
