turn key, no start.

Ok, I went to start my truck today and nothing engine won’t turn at all. I check and clean the battery and all connections to starter, starter relay, and battery. Also checked the headlights and cab light, they both work but the gas gage and windshield wipers do not. now im thinking the starter relay is bad. I put the truck in neutral, turn the key to run position. I disconnect the battery side to relay and arc it to the starter side and viola engine starts to turn. I go buy a new starter relay install it and nothing again, wont turn at all unless I arc battery side to starter side. Only other thing I can think of is the actual ignition switch but not sure how to test or replace it. Ohyeah the truck is an 84 F150 I6 manual any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a stand still for now.

Oh, sure. I found two corroded wires near the battery. They were the culprits.
Went threw many tests and replacing things before I found the wires. A painful reminder to always check the simple things.

Cheers,
Don
