2007 rangers

will ford use the vista blue as a color for thier new 07 rangers? if they do i will order a 07 ford ranger fx4 level II 5 speed in vista blue this fall.

i still believe going from the true blue in 02 to the current sonic blue on thier ranger line was a big mistake. sonic blue has so much red in it looks purple. ford figured it out with the 06 mustang. can they put a decent blue back on the ranger?

There's going to be an '07 Ranger? But Ford announced they're closing the Twin Cities plant, the only facility currently set up to build the Ranger. I just assumed the closing of that plant signaled the end of the Ranger altogether.

i am not sure? but i think its great that they are changing the blue. there are several other changes i would make, but i am glad that i will still be able to order one before they make drastic changes. changes to the size or drive by wire would turn me off completely. as it is now the new jk jeep, is very tempting.

but i still love rangers. i have had five cars in my 14 years of driving and 3 have been rangers, including my first. even if i win the powerball my first purchase would be a 4x4 v6 ext cab ranger with a 5 speed manual. they are fun to drive.

I think the plant was closing in '08 Jeff. Nice to see you posting once in a while, don't be a stranger.

Jeff? Who's that? Haven't seen anyone named Jeff in these parts in month of Sundays.

The St. Paul plant will be starting layoffs soon, and according to my sources, will remain open for the '07 and '08 model years. Production will ramp WAY down for the '08 model year and probably cease altogether by the early spring of '08. Of course, these plans will probably change, and often at that, over the next months. Developers are already salivating over what they could do with all the acres of prime riverfront real estate. I'm happy that all my friends who work there have enough time in to retire with full pensions, and they're still in their forties.
