'72 F250; 390 to 351W
#2
The motor stands from 1965 through 1979 will interchange as far as the 2 wheel drive trucks from F100 through F 250. Ford never put a 351W in any truck from 65 to 79. Get the motor stands from a 65 to a 79 truck that had a 302, or the motor stands from a 76 to a 79 that had either a 351M or 400 in it. These stands will make a 351 W in to a 65 to a 79 ford truck a direct bolt in.
Also, be aware that a 351W and a 390 have a complerte different bellhousing. You will need the bellhousing from a 240, 300, 289, 302, 351W, or 351C. With the right bellhousing and motor stands the 351W will fall right in to place.

No problem Stryder. Bolt those 351M stands to your frame. Put your 351W and C6 together, and put them both in to the truck at the same time. Bolt the engine down to the stands. The cross member that goes under the transmsion can now be installed. Your frame should have 2 sets of holes where that cross member goes. Bolt the transmision to the cross member, then bolt it in to the set of holes in the frame that it lines up with. Let me know if the old drive shaft doesn't fit. I have an easy fix that's cheap for that also.
