No Cycling on Compressor

My compressor does not cycle off when A/C is on. It stays on constantly while in A/C or Defrost setting. It has also become noisy. I had the system decharged and checked for black death and shop said no problems, plenty of freon, orifice good, and all lines clear. The shop said if anything it is an under powered compressor. Does this indicate a need for a new compressor?

If it's cooling, I wouldn't worry about it.

The noise would worry me. I noticed you are from Texas. It looks like it's going to be a hot summer, even by Texas standards, so I would make sure it's working correctly. I don't know if you are anywhere near Houston but there is a guy here I recommend to everyone. His name is John Nobel. Check his website CoolFlow.com. Good luck.

I agree holland501 about the noise. Springing for a new compressor while everything is working is tough.
