2005 Expedition tow package help

I am trying to configure my car trailer to work with the tow package on my 2005 expy, it came with the heavy duty tow package, but no relays or fuses like my brothers f250 did. Can someone tell me what I need to get the brake controller to work, it is hooked up with a connector I bought. Also, I no longer have power back there to the 7 way connector, and cannot seem to locate the fuse associated with that. Could it be under the hood. Thanks.

There are 2 fuses (at least on my '01) that need to be in place under the hood.

My '01 came with an entire package, 2 fuses, the brake controller plug and the 7 way to 4 way adapter. You have to have the fuses in to get power to the connector.

do you remember what position the two fuses went to? I had power to the unit, but from what I have been told and read, I need relay to make the brake controller work.
Thanks again.

the 03+ expy's come prewired and all fueses installed , there is no second fuse box under the hood. all the fuses are in the main fuse box behind the passanger side kick panel.

Hmmm, on my '03 it was plug N play. I plugged directly into the plug by the left side of the console. I use a Tekonsha Prodigy and Tekonsha harness.

Great, so if I do not have power back there now, I am sure I have a good ground, would you suppose I have a blown fuse? If so which one?

Look in your owner's manual for the fuse diagram?

It was fuse number 42 that blew, which is the left turn signal that I was hooking up. The other fuses I thought I needed is a large fuse 30amp in 106, and a relay in R05 which both are specific for auxillary power to charge a battery. God bless you guys.
