It's the weekend once again...What are you going to do to your truck?

I'm finnishing up with the fitment of my hood and new tilt kit, had to trim the cowl side lip of the hood for clearance...but all fits well now, also sanding the hood and front fenders down, will have some rust repair\welding\bodywork to do on them. I found a local guy who is doing resto body and paint on the side. His daytime is a local dealer bodyshop. I'm hoping he can fine-toon my work and put a killer paint job to it. I guess we will see.....
RANDY.....I hear ya on the shaved drip rails!!! I'm not 100% on my cab but the look of filled and smoothed seams and the shaved rails is looking GOOOOOD! I know you'll like yours too. Good luck on the porting!

Today was like this:
1. Wake up, go to 1 year old's birthday party.
2. Come home, go outside in the 95 degree weather, stand there.. try to figure out what to do.
3. Remove one bolt from the bedside to cross-sill.
4. Strip a second bolt, making it impossible to remove.
5. Stand there and hold back the tears.
6. Try to figure out why you started the project in the first place.
7. Try another bolt.
8. Strip it.
9. Rethink your strategy.. do I really wanna do wood?
10. Try the stripped bolt again.
11. Say the F-word under your breath
12. Repent
13. Think more about wood vs. metal.
14. Think about all the tools you don't have.
15. Think about the money it takes to get them.
16. Go gung-hoe and try to remove the whole bed off the frame so you can at least drive it.
17. Give up after one bolt.
18. Tighten that bolt back up.
19. Think more.
20. Cry
21. Grab a hammer and try to knock out a dent
22. Give up because you can't get the right angle
23. Look at how it looks worse than it did before.
24. Blink
25. Make up your mind... no wood..
26. Clean up
27. Go inside and take a shower.
28. Go to Wal-mart

I did a whole lot this weekend. We got the engine/transmission out yesterday and today I have the whole truck down to bare frame and cab so i can weld in my Mustang II.
I am actually just going to tack weld it in with my MIG and have a professional finish it.

Well, trying to save money, I removed paint and etc. from the lower fenders of my 52 F-1. I have been doing body work to these, hoping that they will pass my inspection when finished. I had a time trying to find 18 gage steel for patch work. I wil be using doner metal from a 71 Ford pickup bed. This appears to be the same gauge. Welding I hope sunday. Yall have a good weekend, Monte!

Too busy yesterday to do anything. Thought it would be warm today and I would paint the bumpers. Then I planned to take her for a spin, as the roads are almost dried out. Woke up to 6" of fresh snow instead. Guess it'll be another week or two at this point. Good thing I didn't activate the liability insurance yet.

WOW! There was alot of truck work happeningover the weekend! Cool!
I didn't get much done on Saturday (on the truck anyway) Ran errandsw with the wife, went over to mom-in-laws and changed a flat tire, had to be at my sister's for a BBQ but I did have time to squeeze in a couple hours at a local car show. It was a pretty good one, about 250 cars
Sunday I managed to change out my coolant temp switch for a sensor so I could wire up my temp guage, I wired up the reverse lights, and powered up the 6 way power seats with power lumbar. I fixed the dome light. Installed my other tires and wheels (I had burned by others down to the steel belts the niht before....oops). I set the toes in and then drove the truck. I put about 20 miles on it WOOOHOOOO!!!!
I ended up stopping at a fellow FTE member's house and spent a great afternoon sipping a frosty beverage and talking trucks
It was a good weekend!

My Sunday was a LOT better than my Saturday.
Got the grinder out, put a 4.5" cut-off wheel on it, took those old bolts off like hot butter! Got all the cross beams out of the bed, now its just frame, baby! (well... and the cross beam that supports the bed up onto the frame)
I took off the cut-off wheel and put a grinding disc on there.. ground down those two weld beeds. Nice! Took a paint/rust removing disc around it and primed it.
Then the back of the bed fell off the cross beam and onto the ground! (ouch)
lOoked like I had a dump truck for a second! hehe (should have taken a picture)
Picked it up, bolted the bed to the crossbeam so it wouldnt happen again.
