Thumbs down 88 300 I6.. no start

We have an '88 F-150 with a 300 straight 6 in it..

It has been sitting since last summer and this spring here, we tried to start it to no avail...

It'll crank and crank, but no sputter or nothing..

Checked for spark, good.

Turn key on, and you can here to fuel pump prime.

After cranking you can smell gas...

Any help?

Thanks in advance!

How did you check for spark useing the plug or a spark tester? I have had coils that were weak and would spark across the plug but would not fire under pressure. Once checked with a spark tester there was no spark. Have you noticed any corroded connections or bag grounds? You may also want to check your compression to make sure it is good.

We just checked for spark with a plug. I'll check for spark with a tester and see where it's at.

Fuel pressure will be next on the list if that doesn't par out.

Thanks for your help and thanks for the warm welcome!!

Thumbs up

might want to check all of your electrical wire behind the manfold, and make sure some mice or other creatures chewed throught them, the main plug for the injector harness plugsup directly behind the motor, right above the head.

Good Luck
