have you tried an auto parts store like napa or auto zone? they mite have what your looking for. if not, you mite be able to take a piece of 3/8 hose and a piece 1/2 hose, then use an adapter??? i don't know just a thought.

Have you tried to get the 3/8 over that 1/2 end? You may can make it work. Thats only 1/8 inch difference.

I have tried auto parts stores and they don't have it. I have a 3/8" going into 1/2" hose now but, I'm not sure if fuel hose will stand up to the pressure for long, if it will colapse. I've heard there is a particular PCV hose that won't collapse to vacum pressure. Think I'm ok for a while, thanks.

Well, a regular PCV hose is pretty thick, and its molded in poition. You can always just plug your manifold and put on a PCV breather. All the hose is there for is for emmisions.

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It is required if you want your engine to live and not have to change the oil every 1,000 miles.

Try some 7/16" hose. Fuel line can kink easily, try some light weight hydraulic hose.

Call the dealer and get the part number and then go to genuinefordparts.com and enter that number. That will get you the original factory hose at half the price of the dealer. Or you can just rig it with some vacuum hose. The one for my 360 is $25 for a factory hose that's molded with bends in it but someone just took two pieces of straight hose and clamped them to a copper plumbing fitting with a 90 degree bend in it. It works great.

The PCV system provides ventilation for your engine so that pressure doesn't build inside of it. It sucks oily fumes from the engine block into the carb and burns them. The PCV itself is just a spring loaded ball-bearing check valve.

Good question. If you didn't have the hose there then pressure would build in the crankcase and remain at whatever pressure the PCV valve allows. This must not be good otherwise there would be no need for the valve in the first place. And if you don't have the hose you should at least plug up the hose connection at the carb. That would be a major vacuum leak.

The hose can be plugged on the manifold and a breather added on the valve cover. DONT just leave the PCV valve in the hole, you engine will build up too much pressure.

Sorry but that is just very wrong! All of the crankcase vapors will condense inside the engine and make a terrible mess. That is worse than the old 40-50's trucks with road draft tubes. Install a new PCV and hook it up properly. The PCV system is required for proper operation.

Thats true. A road draft tube essentially creates a slight vacuum and causes circulation. The old 30's model engines didn't have road draft tubes though. Thanks for catching me on that though, I didn't really think about the road draft tube. A PCV will help keep you engine cleaner inside.

A breather or line from the air cleaner to one end of the valve cover with a PCV drawing air from the other end will keep fresh filtered air flowing thru the engine which carries off the organic vapors, acids, and moisture that would otherwise condense inside forming deposits, eating the engine alive. On a V8 the air is pulled in on one side and out the other. Remember to replace the PCV annually or every 10,000 miles. Just because a PCV rattles does NOT mean it is any good.

All I did was slid a short piece of 1/2 inch hose over the end of my 3/8 hose and it works well. I have had it like that over a year and a half.
