That is what the IDI boys all say, 12 V Cummins is mechanical, no computer, no chips and no laptop port.

there is some company out there who can make your truck frame longer.
Victor makes torches. Miller makes welders. You can buy the steel from me.

well men i guess that solves my problem then ill either put a powerstroke in it or go in the wild direction of puttin a cummins motor from a big truck in it or cat motor or a detroit even though i hate them to loud and NOISY lol, but the cummins that goes in the big rigs do have computers so dependin on price i may go that route but if the price is to steep then ill stick to the powerstroke and rebuild the bottom end alot, but u can do alot to them 12Valves though or at least a guy i know can, if u got the $$$$$$ though lol, thanks for the input though Lance

From what i hear, the 12 v cummins is relatively easy to get alot of power out of. A buddy of mine had a 95 dodge with a 12v and he turned up the pump and put a set of 380hp injector in it. very fast truck. very solid engines. although, if you could figure out the weight issue, a detroit or cat would make for an amazing vehicle

I think these guys sell a "how to" manual to do just what you're talking about. And will sell you a CTD with only a few thousand miles on it. Or, I think for about 10k they'll do it for you.

TexasRoughNeck,
I have driven a truck through the Permian basin for years along I20, There are a multitude of oilfield equipment salvage yards down there as i am sure you are aware of. I would look for a older f600 that came with a cat, 5spd main with say a two speed rear. that would give you the larger bolt circle to run 22.5 or 24.5 alcoas as well as there are many that have the heavy duty 4X4 in place. Then the only fabs you would nee to do is the cab mounts for the crew cab. Something to think about and to search up on.
