Each dealer can install what ever cover they can get thier hands on. The only cover I have seen that wasn't marked with a manufacture was on a sport trac. It reminded me of an advanced folding, but much better quality.

Thinks to look at is hard/soft, on hard covers handles, hinges and latches are fairly distinctive. On soft covers, how the snaps fasten, the clamps and how the bows are mounted will identify the cover.

i have the 2005 f-150 accessories catalog from ford. it is directly from ford, not the dealer. they list 4 tonneau covers. 3 of them are soft covers and they don't list the manufacturer, but just their description. the fourth cover is fiberglass and they specifically state that it is a leer. the ford dealer told me the same thing b/c i was looking into getting a tonneau cover and asked them if they made a ford tonneau cover or recommended a specific manufacturer.

From the ford accessory website, the plain snap down sounds like an extang black max.

The roll up sounds like a truxedo with the auto tensioners.

Not sure of other model of F series trucks but for F250 and above there is only after market tonneau cover no factory direct.

In the Ford Racing Performance Parts Catalog, they sell a tri-fold tonneau that has Ford Racing on it, and its made by TORZATOP, and the catalog refers you to
