Vin vs Engine conflict

Hello all, I'm new to this site having just acquired a 68 F250. The probelm I'm having is the Vin number. The Vin is F25YCE06834. Now I believe this is a 1968 model truck. I know the history on this truck also, it was locally bought by a freind of my freind. The engine is original, it has the little metal tag under the coil bracket. The tag says the engine is a 360 it also says 69 on it. How can 1969 engine be in a 1968 model year truck from the factory. I'm confused... I appreciate any light that can be shed on this.

Hey welcome to

According to the consecutive unit number in the VIN (E06834), your truck is a '69. Does the registration say '68?

You might have to change your user name.
