good home needed

well got to get rid my old lovable great dane or we will be served papers at the apt. had him since he was a pup, about 9 yo now.very mellow dog, small for a dane.he"s an inside dog and loves people . he stayed at my folks when we first moved back here ,then new management took over and said they allowed dogs so paid deposit and got all shots in order ,then the manager comes by and says she omitted the weight and height restrictions from the form i signed and he must go

I'm sorry to hear that. Read the contract real close you might find a loop hole. Tell her he/she is a service dog and you have to have it because you cant hear the phone ring or something. It never hurts to try! good luck

have you found a home for him yet? there may be some sort of "great dane rescue" organization that may be able to help you out... that's sad to hear...especially since you've had him that long...best of luck in your search...

I'd be happy to adopt if I had my own place. But..that won't happen for another couple years. Sorry man. How BIG is the dog? Small for a dane can be pretty big still..

Here is a link to the Great Dane Club of Des Moines.

http://www.gdcdm.org/

I'm with J&Bsuv though read the contract. If you have a signed contract that says you can have the dog and you fall within the parameters of the contract then tell the manager to pound sand (or whatever saying is popular for "Get Lost" in Iowa)

Easier then qualifying your dog as a "Service Dog" you might consider trying to qualify him as a "Therapy Dog"
http://www.therapydogs.com/
http://www.tdi-dog.org/

They might cut you some slack then.

Good Luck with whatever route you have/want to go.

No problem that he's not a pup. As long as he is house broken I don't think ther is a problem.
