Do you like Country/Rock?

Have you heard Shooter Jenning's new single on the radio? I heard it and think its really good. His lyrics are funny and his sound is very cool. His parents are actually Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, the famous singers. My buddy from my internship at Universal said that he is going to be on David Letterman this coming Tuesday. I went to his site (www.***************.com) and it plays some of the other songs on the album. check it out.

Haven't heard it (see the thread about country music- NE country radio is lousy), but I have his first CD and like it. Makes good music to drive to, windows down...

Huge country music fan. I'm not sure which song you're talking about, but his song "4th of July" is really good. One of the things that I like about country music is that they have a respect for those that came before them, and Shooter definately walks that path. He is a little more rock than I like, but I have to respect him for singing what and how he feels. To me, that's what music is about.

I like Shooter Jennings and his daddy was my hero. So I'm glad he's doing the Hank Jr. thing and finding his own music instead of just singing his dad's songs

Yeah, I heard his stuff and wasn't too impressed. He sure does look like a goof too.

If you're lookin for some Country with a little touch of Rock in it, check out Ray Scott. That album is unbelievably awesome.

Yeah, I like Ray Scott alot. I first caught the tail end of "My Kind of Music" and almost fell out of the truck I was laughing so hard. I just had to know what the rest of the song was. When I heard it, I said, Yup, I've been there. Great song. "Different Kind of Cowboy" is good too. I can't remember the others. I've got XM, cuz northern NJ has no goddamn country station, but it works out well because XM now has 7 different country-like channels. And the new country station, Highway 16, makes a great effort to play a lot of songs you wouldn't hear on a regular radio station. They'll have programs where they interview new singers and get them to play live in the studio and other programs where they play the entire cd of an artist. Also, at certain times in the day, they have a 3 in a row by certain artists. The first one is the current hit, and the other 2 are tracks from the cd that haven't been played much. It's really good.

The whole CD is awesome. Plowboy should be his next hit. Dirty Shirt is a killer song. Rats Don't Race is another one. I love the image as much as I do the music.
