I think I have said this before, but I love the blue. What are the seats out of? They look like the escort GT ones I put in my old ranger (halo head rests).

Looks cool with the red brakes showing through. Almost looks like the exhaust will exit above the running boards? Nice pickup.

I hope to be going to paint in a couple of weekends...have to finnish on the cab and front fender work.
The exhaust will exit thru the running boards bottom edge (half oval cut out in bottom edge of boards).
The paint will be the same blue with hopefully a little more flake in it.
The leather buckets came from a 97 pontiac Grand Prix (driver side powered)
I had just finnished welding up the seat mounting brackets and wanted
to see how the fit. I ended up shortening the column by 1 3\4".

Thumbs up

Looking Really Good! Are you running the stock 3 speed? How about some interior pictures, I was just looking at some bucket seats today and I'd be interested in how you mounted yours and how it looks. What length colume would you buy if you had to do it over again?

Love the blue and the red accents!

Thanks for all the nice comments, it lets me know I'm on the right track.

Phoenixson, The interior is bare but i will post some pics when its done. I would buy the 30" column that I wanted in the first place, I was talked into the 32 and with the stock bench and the buckets it was just too high.
As far as seat mounts, I positioned the seats where I wanted them and used 2x4 blocks to get an apx. hieght, then just used 1" square tube and welded a riser for each seat, bolted to floor...done. I will finnish with covering the mounts with a matching interior fabric or carpet panel and just wrap around them.
I am running the original 239 with a 3-speed and converted to floor shifter, using a floor handbrake from a BMW.

ps...got more body work to do today...my kids just landed a baseball on the hood !

e-William, do you mind if I call you Bill! thanks for the feedback on this as well as the other post. Ouch about the baseball! Are your kids still among the living?
The other thing I'm curious about is your shifter. I'm thinking keeping my 292 with the 3 speed might be a good idea. Do you like your shifter, and how does it compare to the Lockar?

Thanks Bill!

Phoenixson,
"Bill" would be one of the nicer names people call me...but I usually go by Ed.
Unfortunatly, kids and card dents go hand in hand...I'll just keep this event in the vault until they are teenagers and i need a little guilt session to lay on them!!!
The 3-speed I have is just a basic Mr.Gasket universal, nothing special but not too bad. I hope to run across and try a nicer shifter in the future (if the price is right).
I checked out your gallery pic....looks like a great project in the making.
later, Ed
