I thought it could be a good idea to post where all of you get your truck parts for your rigs - that way if you are struggling to find places to get parts, you can check in here, and see where your fellow countrymen and neighbours find parts.

For me that is a big problem in Central America. First it is hard to find good quality parts, even simple things like filters. If you need a dash or trim part that is even worse. You can go to a dealer here but sometimes the wait is long and the part is 4-5 times more expensive than in the US

I do a lot of shopping on-line like ebay and other places (summit) and sent to a friends place in FL. From there I wait until I make the trip or a friend comes down for a visit. I would do more shipping but there are no address here, that is right no numbers you may live 200 meters south-50 meters east of the KFC or park!

It is not too bad unless something breaks, I can stock oil-air filters and even coil and sensors but getting things like synthetic oils and cleaners(I really want some seafoam) is hard since you can not bring that on a plane. I want to bring down a set of running boards but that will cost too much to ship.
I had a friend replace a head gasket in a small car. The gasket came from Brazil and rusted away in 6 months. Even if it is a pain I wait until I can get the right parts.

Personally I have found the local big name F truck supplier to be not very interested in the older models (mine's a 79),
If they have the parts fine, otherwise its "nup, dunno."
Have yet to try some of the more enthusiest based ones.
Have delt with Blue Oval (a sponser here). Was send an email almost every day telling me the status of my order, which arrived promptly.
This was not cheap (freight cost more than the parts) but if you live in the world's most isolated capital city what do you expect.
I now have steel finger grips for the doors that will never brake and drive me MAD again.
Was talking to a guy the other day who does power steering conversion kits
in OZ, he also does a fiberglass repro of the dash panel but can leave the instrument recess filled in so you can mount any aftermarket gauges in there.
Will catch up with him in a few weeks and post my impressions

Here in the UK I find Ford are totally clueless and no use at all, even for "Official" RHD importls like the Explorer.
Cas-Am, Rodley Motors and US Automotive all advertise in the hobby magazines and are excellent.
I also found a single US Ford specialist dealer in Kent but can't recall the name; I'll post it when I dig it out of my little book.
I also tried Rock Auto because they ship internationally but their customer service sucks. I won't spend my money there again!

 

I've had good experience with Midwest Auto Parts and also LMC for over seas stuff. After that most of my parts comes from US Automotive & eBAY.

 

Here in Venezuela Fords are quite popular, so i think i won´t have troubles finding parts for at least 20-15 years, still... the prices can vary a lot, they wanted to charge so much for a new A/C compressor that i chosed to install a generic one, with some modifications, it was a Sanden 508, and it seems to work quite well so far. It costed me around $500, and included the following: Compressor, nitrogen cleaning of the system, evaporator cleaning (outside and inside), adaptable support, new o-rings and tips and all the work involved in the adaptation.
