Transmission Fluid Leak?

Transmission Fluid Leak?
I just had the transmission on my 1995 F250 Diesel automatic rebuilt. Now I see transmission fluid stains on the transmission cover on the bottom (not sure of correct term here) and if I run my finger around the gasket, I get fluid on my finger. I am not losing fluid in great quantities, however. The level remains stable on the dipstick, and there are no drops on my garage floor. Is a little seepage normal for a new gasket install, or should I be take it back to the mechanic? Thanks for your advice. Garnet

E4OD's, expecially the older ones with the cork gasket, will leak at the pan if the bolts are tightened "until it feels tight". The bolts must be torqued to the proper value, 10-12 ft-lb. Start with the center bolts on each side & work toward & around the ends, alternating side-to-side. No sealant is needed. If they've been tightened too much, the pan may be deformed under the bolt head; straighten it.
