The brand of plug wires you buy for a stock 360 isn't going to help much. If it were me I would buy some good 8mm plug wires form the local parts house and go from there. They come in a multitude of colors so you can get some that look cool too. If you are wnating to help the everyday run ability of your truck you should look into upgrading your ignition. Dump the points ignition and get a pertronix elctronic kit. They can be had at JCwhitney and many other places. Just do a search for pertronix I think that is how it is spelled. The other good thing about it is you don't have to change, clean, or gap your points all the time. You will be glad you did.

I bought a set of Autolite wires from the local parts house about a year ago. They're not exciting, but they're decent, standard, and reliable.

I thought I was being pretty careful, but did manage to cross two. It idled slightly worse and accelerated a lot worse until I uncrossed them. I guess the timeless advice about swapping only one wire at a time still applies.

Several years I was doing some dyno work on a small block Chevy and thought I was doing a great thing by getting some Mallory wires and Moroso looms. They were bright and pretty until the exhausts got warm. They melted like chocolate and I went back to the boring stock HEI set. If I'd had a fan on the engine to keep them cool (like the normal vehicle circulation on the road), those fancy wires may have been ok.

If you want a good wire that is reliable and has a lifetime warranty, go with Jacobs. They're middle of the road: way better than stock, but not racing wires. They are great. They are completely sealed, so they're ideal for trucks. They're blue too. Jacob's also has a great ignition system called Omni that is good for trucks. The wires are usually around 50 bucks.

Change your cap to the two piece type that came out around 1975. This has connectors like the spark plugs, wires will not pop off. Get the spiral wound wires in 8mm. Do not use the stock carbon core type. You may be able to get a life time warrenty. Now you will be all set for a ignition box upgrade,

Stock 352, 2bbl... trying to be more fuel efficient, and get better performance. Just picked up the Pertronix Ignitor with high voltage coil... considering the 7mm wires (stock look) and installing Splitfire plugs... what is the best recommendation for a cap and rotor to hold up to the increased spark, or is stock ok?

Open to suggestions, thanks!

MSD has the rep for being the best wires around. Go with the bigger diameter. MSD makes a Cap-Adapt for the Ford FE engine with the post type connectors. I run both on my 72 F250 Custom. They fit fine. Haven't gotten around to doing the Petronix points replacement. Do have a MSD 6A box that supposedly will work with the Petronix.
