Right to carry

Yesterday the Great State of Nebraska passed the right to carry now all we have to do is wait for the Gov to sign it into law which he intends to do. this makes us the 48th state to have this law in some form leaving 2 states that will not pass such a law to protect their citizens from criminals.

Great news... Do you know if there is a permit that you'll have to apply for, or any other hoops to jump through?

I'm sure for concealed you will need a permit. South Dakota was pretty easy to get a concealed permit, haven't tried here in Mo because I don't have a pistol now...I don't think they would consider my M44 concealed...

From what I heard, you have to take a gun safety class, have a background check, and pay a $100 fee. Yes, I will be applying for one. Looks like I'll finally have to trade in my beretta 9MM for that H&K 9MM I've been eyeing. The beretta is just a little too bulky to carry.

Nuke you might look into the P2000 HK it's smaller than the USP Subcompact.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those (p2000). I carried the USP 9MM when I was on security at the nuke station. That is the sweetest little gun to shoot, light and well balanced, even with the 15 round clip. I'll have to check into this other one, though. I also thought of going to the sig sauer, but they are awful pricey. Thanks for the head up Thomas!

From the sound of it, the city of Omaha is going to ban concealed weapons, regardless of this passing. I hope this gets brought up during the next election of city officials. Sure would cut down on the car jackings and other personal assaults!

If they do you can bet that Ernie Chamber is behind it.

How can a city override a state law or a federal law?

Technically they can't but businesses can post signs forbidding guns on their grounds and the city can probly add alot of places like parks to be banned it's been done before in other states.
