86 F-150 Front Mount Receiver Hitch

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can find a front mount receiver hitch for a 86 F-150? I have looked everywhere but I can only find this item for 92 and newer. Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe retrofitting something made for a newer truck or different model?

I can't even find replacement front bumpers with built in hitches for this year truck. I really don't want to spend the money for a winch bumper, and I really like the option of attaching a winch using the receiver hitch. I also do a lot of surf fishing and attaching a cooler and rod rack to the front would be awesome.

Thanks

How do the hitches mount on the 87 and newer truck? As the only frame difference between the trucks is that the 87 and newer have a weird crumple zone area thingy on the front rails. But what you can do is just get one of those universal class 4 reciever hitches for the rear and modify it to fit or do what i just did:

You can buy the square tube that makes a receiver and fab one up to attach to whatever is avaliable under your truck. It's really pretty easy if you have a welding rig.

Thanks for the suggestions...

reunel.com has some awesome front bumpers for the older fords and Warn pointed me to a dealer who has a supply of the Warn Front Mount Receiver hitches for the 86 fords...

I also found a 45 gal. Extra Capacity Fuel tank on ebay...When I get done this is going to be my ultimate camping, fishing, and hunting truck.

I'm getting it painted this summer...the same color as the general lee...with the roll bars and push bars in black.

That's what I did on my 84, it cost less than half for me to build one rather than buying one. It works great for yanking those "rail dragging" Z71s off the top of Test Hill at Silver Lake sand dunes. It's plenty strong, I winched myself out of a rocker panel-deep mud pit from it...slicker than a 2 dollar pistol!
