2-Tone Paint Schemes For '79 Trucks

I'm wanting to pull my flat bed off of my '79 F-350 4x4 and put the box back on. I'm going to be doing a few modifications over the next few months.....or longer, and that includes giving it a new paint job. I have sifted through some of the galleries, but I guess I would like to know what is more "original" for this era of truck. I'm not doing a restoration, but I think these look pretty good with the 2-tone paint schemes. If you have a picture in your gallery, or any input, let me know. Thanks

When I first bought my truck I was not crazy about the colors. They have really grown on me, when I paint it again, it will be the same factory two tone - metallic green top and bottom, silver in the middle. Mike

Bottom right is the original paint & trims schemes.

Exterior is more dependent on the interior colour.

I like Blue/silver, Red/Silver,D Blue/L Blue.

Is it possible to get that "lower" trim? My '79 was a solid color, and it appears that the two-tones all have that lower chrome trim. I have seen two-tone paint schemes that were just one color above the upper trim piece and another color below it. They didn't fluctuate from one to another and back to the other, they just went from one color to the next. I guess those paint jobs weren't factory.

well right now i am working on the interior, stripping it and repainting it silver with red parts, cd player and 4 speakers. Then new front fenders, found a good used flatbed, going to put led lights on the flatbed, new grille, front bumper, off road lights. Then repaint exterior toreador red with silver bottom. The when thats done I want to go through the 400 and build it with 4bbl and alm intake cam and everything. Est going to put about $3000 in engine.

Just a few thoughts for users to make things copacetic on this the busiest FTE forum.

Posting Big Pics is frowned upon.

Posting Little pics is fine

Also,
And posting a Quote with a big pic in it (just under the post) is a big no-no and is a waste of space.

Instead : Address your post in that person's name who you are directing your comments to.
